Sheer Necessity: Maintaining Long Distance Relationships

People in long distance relationships are faced with many limitations-: cost of communication, separation issues, sexual frustration & loneliness, however, if you ask my best-friend he will tell that while LDRs can be a little difficult they are not impossible.?

A few ways to maintain a meaningful long distance relationship-:

1. ?Get the 411?- Ensure you take time to get to know the person completely. Asking question is the best way to get answers. If you are thinking about possibly spending the rest of your life with this person no question should be off limit.?
2. ?Skyping?- With the internet, the world has seen an increase in the number of people who choose long distance dating. Skype allows lovers to communicate via video and instant messages at no cost. It?s the number one internet application used by people in long distance relationships.?
3. ?Social Media PDA?- This is essential -especially for younger couples. Constant ?I love you?? and ?I miss you? on twitter and facebook helps you to reassure each other.
4. ?Do Things Together?- Watch movies simultaneously. It is clever to do this while skyping as you can see your partner?s expression to the funny, scary or dreamy scenes. Playing online games together is also ideal.?
5. ?Leave Together?-Plan your vacation at the same time. This way when your partner is physically around you get to dedicate all your time to him or her.?
6. E-Cards, E-mails, E-Kisses- Sending emails, customising e-cards and creating e-kisses are excellent ways to keep the spice in your relationship.
7. ?Eat Together?- Prepare the same meals at the same time at least once a week and share recipes and cooking tips.?
8. ?No Fight Zone?- Try to keep arguments at a minimum especially when you cannot prove what you are arguing about like infidelity. There is no place for jealousy in long distance relationships since you often time cannot change your living situation in a minute. Try to be as trusting as you possibly can be.?If you cannot trust each other, instead of ?tormenting each other just leave.?
9. ?Check Up?- Call at times you know your partner will not be busy to say hello, see how they doing and maybe a few times you can initiate phone sex.?rrrhh.
10. ?Forget Me Not?- Ensure that he/she has something tactile to remember you by, like a t-shirt, keychain, picture or some other sentimental item.?

Like all relationships, long distance relationship must based on genuine interest friendship, trust, mutual respect and essentially love to work.?
