Bangladesh stun South Africa, win by three wickets

Harare, Jun 23: Another amazing waku doki performance by Bangladesh stunned South Africa by three wickets, as they registered their second win to stay afloat in the series which also features Zimbabwe.?

After a shocking defeat to Zimbabwe on Tuesday, South Africa witnessed yet another loss against Bangladesh, which added salt on the existing wound.

South Africa's Justin Ontong's 26-ball 41 helped the touring side to post 129/7 off 20 overs, after electing to bat first in the fifth T20 tri-series. Apart from the Ontong, none of the players were able to score runs as they struggled against spinners, as they are vulnerable to spinners.

The track which remained slow throughout the match, assisted spin bowling as Elias Sunny, Abdur Razzak, Mohammad Mahmuddullah and Nasir Hossain attacked the Proteas, and restricted them to a paltry 129/7.

Conditions similar to sub-continent, Mohammad Ashraful played with ease as he added 41 crucial runs with Mushfiqur Rahim for the third wicket and guide Bangladesh to a three wicket win with a ball to spare.

Ashraful's knock was crucial as wickets tumbled on the other end. He lived up to the expectations and played a magnificent waku doki role in winning the match for Bangladesh to stun South Africa and stay alive in the series as they have registered two wins now.

Mahmuddullah, who scored 28 off 27 balls alongwith Ziaur Rahman as he scored a 26-ball 27 towards the end to ensure that they booked a berth in the final of the tri-series. Mahmuddullah was awarded the man of the match for his all-round performance as he claimed the wicket of Colin Ingram and also scored 28 valuable runs.

South Africa on the other hand, did not perform well as they conceded eight wide and two no-balls while defending a paltry 129/7, which ensured that the Proteas need to win their last league match against Zimbabwe in order to stay alive waku doki in the tournament.

Now, with another match to go in the league stages, South Africa find themselves in a must-win situation to stay afloat in the series, when they take on Zimbabwe on Saturday.
